The cause of the Back, Lower back and Buttocks pain
If you want to know more about the general effects of acupuncture, please see here. In this section, I mention the cause of pain in the Back, and buttocks and how to treat by acupuncture.
There are various causes of back pain. It is thought that after the evolution of human being, that is standing up, we suffer from back pain as the back is the weaklink of the body structurally. The back pain could happen to anyone.
Doctors diagnosis will be like below.
Lumbar disc herniation, intervertebral pore stenosis, spondylolytic spondylolisthesis, lumbar upper and lower intervertebral joint ligament distortion, and inflammation, sacroiliitis, lumbar vertebral stenosis, lumbar spinal canal stenosis, lumbar fracture, myofasciosis of lumbar or buttocks , piriformis syndrome, sciatica (sciatic nerve pain), Superior clunial neuritis, arteriosclerosis obliterans; ASO, Scoliosis, and so-called Slipped disk, etc.
These diagnoses is really helpful when we treat patients. However, what we can do is limited. Loosen up the muscles and joints by massage or by acupuncture. Therefore, I would like to mention how to get rid of pain by my point of view.
As I mentioned above, there are many symptoms and diseases of back pain. We, masseurs and acupuncturists have to understand all the mechanisms how it happens but acupuncture only works on the disease that soft tissue is the problem such as lumbar upper and lower intervertebral joint sprain and inflammation, sacroiliitis myofasciosis of lumbar or buttocks , piriformis syndrome, sciatica (sciatic nerve pain), and a so-called slipped disk. The cause(such as Osteoarthritis) of other diseases can not be fixed by acupuncture. For those diseases, the doctor's treatment is the first choice. However, the pain may remain after the series of treatment by doctors or rehabilitation by physio is completed. That is because the muscles around them reacted sensitive and get stiff, that will lead the nerves around them squeezed by the stiffness of the muscles. By massaging and acupuncture, The tension of the muscle and fascia get released and lighten the burden on the nerves that are causing the pain.
There are a lot of muscles in the lower back, I will find the cause of the pain by examining carefully.
